I usually tidy things up during the playback of recent changes. I don't do it as I go along though. Years ago I would try and go back to a project that I did a few months previous and spent way too much time sorting things out. Now I use huge templates that have folders and tracks setup for practically everything. That which I don't use gets deleted. But I wouldn't say I'm a stickler about it.

I make a mess, then tidy stuff while I'm procrastinating and can't think where to go with a song.

There are hundreds of GBs of unused recordings I need to sort through though, scattered across loads of projects, but it's such a big job now I'm avoiding it.

If you have lots of quite different versions of a Set in a Project, can you do the "delete unused samples" thing in the project organiser, and it'll only delete everything that's in NONE of the Sets in that project??? I don't want to delete that inspired creation that's in one old version of a set!
