How do I do this?
In all of the videos I have seen, people have it so that whatever they play loops over and over, and they add on to it. how do I do this? How do I end the loop once I am done?
I use mpk mini and newest ableton.

How bout you start by doing the tutorials and reading the manual...
Re: How do I do this?
Are you talking about MIDI or Audio clips?
For MIDI, you can play a clip, hit play again and it will loop. Then if the overdub button is turned on, you can add notes.
For Audio, you can play a clip, then hit it again to loop it. After that, you cannot add more audio to it, but you can open a second Audio Channel, and record a new loop.
As an additional option for audio, you can either use Looper which allows you to overdub (it is very friendly), or you can use a Return channel with a long delay feeding back into itself(this is probably your least likely option as, you would not be able to save your results, it would just be looping in the buffer.)
