Instant playback on a track set for mic input?

Alright, this has been pissing me off long enough. Time to post it:

My music is entirely composed of vocal loops. For this reason, I constantly set tracks for "Ext. In 1" or "Ext. In 2" depending on the mic I am using at the time. However, like any normal human being, I like to hear back what I have sung the moment after I sing it. Seems the only way to do this is to go back to the tracks settings and get out of the "Ext In" mode and bring it to "Master Out" mode.

Any way around this? Those 10 seconds of fussing around destroys my creative process!!

well, you CAN have both "Ext in" and "Master out" selected at the same time, they have separate menus. i don't get it.
have you tried playing with thr "monitor" buttons?

Thanks. Ever since I switched to Live 4 I never bothered with the "Auto" setting in the monitor buttons.

And now I think I will...
