moving warped files
Ok so I know when you Warp a track it saves that Ableton file in the same folder as the MP3 . So heres the deal . The external hard drive I had , my warped tacks on , I coped to another external hard drive. In the new ex.H.D. there is also the ableton files for the warped tracks for my set. Is there a way I can point Ableton to look for those warped tracks in the new external hard drive. I tried dragging and droppnig and lookng in the prefernce menu but not sure ,,thanks

Good Question
I hope someone will see this to answer. I would like to know if you can do this too. I would like to warp all my songs on my PC then network them into my laptop which I use to DJ. Can this be done

You can warp your tracks and copy them to and from an external disk.
If you load them from that disk, instead of creating a new .asd file, it should use the one you created earlier. If you hit the Save button on a warped clip, the original .asd file gets updated with your preferences for that clip.
As for making Live look for the files, you have to look for them manually using the browser/finder/explorer. If you use Live's browser you can bookmark that folder.

Re: moving warped files
I had a bunch of asd files on a external HD and copied it to another HD. So I think what I have to do is have Ableton look for them ,like what you said with browser/finder.explorer. I guess I got confused because if I open the Ableton Live set doesnt it think that it still on the old HD.hoffman2k wrote:Not sure I understand the question.andyb19844 wrote:BUMP ??anybody

Yeah, if you didn't copy files into your set and they're not in the Live library, then Live will consider them missing.andyb19844 wrote:I had a bunch of asd files on a external HD and copied it to another HD. But these .asd files are a different story. If you load a sample from your hardrive, Live will look for the .asd file inside the folder the sample comes from. Regardless where the folder is. No .asd file = No stored settings. It won't look for that file anywhere else. And you can't do anything to make it look somewhere else other than where the sample comes from.
