"out of memory" crashes (Live 8.2.1)
"out of memory" crashes (Live 8.2.1)
hi,
i sometimes get "out of memory" errors which lead to crashes.
in my opinion a professional software should have a reliable memory organisation. it could refuse a new integration of a plugin or sample into the song. but a crashing isn't a sober programing.
are there anywhere in live a possibility to have look at a more or less detailed current memory usage inclusive the border?
so as a workaround the user could decide to remove a plugin / sample before opening a new one.

Re: "out of memory" crashes (Live 8.2.1)
Surely every crash should be reported to support, though?
I've reported crashes constantly (sent about 380MB worth of crash report packs a few weeks ago) and nothing ever changes, nothing ever improves.
I still can't even approach 3GB of RAM usage without a crash. With 8GB of RAM, and no other program running, surely I should be able to get very close to 4GB before live has any memory probs.
I'm really looking at switching to Reaper for all my DAW tasks except performing live.
The thing is as solid as a rock with a 7GB set.
Why the hell can't I open a 3.5GB one in Live?
Fix it, for god's sake.
