Happy 2011!
I'm looking for advice on how to integrate some electronic drum pads into my live DJ mixes.
Here is what I have:
- Live 8
- Roland PDX-8 drum pads (2)
- Roland TMC-6 interface (translates the drum pad hits into MIDI notes)
- M-Audio Audiophile Firewire
- Vestax VCM-6 and Launchpad
Here's what I want to do:
- add my own beats into the mix using the two pads, and possibly more in the future.
- loop the beats (using the Live 8 Looper I suppose ?)
- switch the sounds quickly/easily
What's the best way to proceed?
As of right now I have no instruments/plugins/samples/sounds in mind. I've done a search and I've seen talk of using Impulse, Simpler, Sampler, and Drum Racks. These are all new to me. I suppose I need sounds too. Can anyone give me a head start?
