Having the next scene start at the end of the previous?

Post by [email protected] » Tue May 31, 2005 4:32 pm

If i want to manually trigger a scene at the end of another scene, and I want live to let the previous scene finish, how do I do it? I am playing improvised music with undefined iterations through sections - when I manually try to trigger the next scene, it does not wait til the end of the current one. The nunber of bars/beats setting in the toolbar does not seem to work force til the end of current scene.

Using automation is no good either becuase it remembers when I do things and on gigs it's different every time ( 5 choruses one night, 10 the next).

Any ideas...

There is no "end" to a scene as it is composed of several clips that can be loops of various lengths. So when you switch to another scene the only criteria is the global quantization you've set up from the tool bar...
Unless you only use non looping clips...

ableton, I do hope this is coming soon, we've wanted it for so long and it solves many many problems (like complex time signatures etc)

thanks
