Hello everyone,
I am looking to do a few beats sets this year and I want to prepare myself for a great set... I was wondering if anyone here can help guide me in the direction to help me set up a live set that runs anywhere between 10-15 minutes long?
Basically here is my idea...
I want to take a few beats I made in Maschine and use Ableton Live to play them back... Lets say 8 beats total. I want to be able to press play in Ableton Live and have the first beat start the set. I want to be able to load another beat I did in Maschine and have that play next in line. Rinse and repeat... The most important part for me is to keep the music flowing, almost like a DJ mix / blend.
Can anyone else me set something up and get the ball rolling? I would really appreciate it a lot. Thank you!

One thing you might have fun with is Looper
You might be able to either put it on the Maschine channel, or on a Return channel. Depending on the situation, you might want to try settings other than the default (to avoid overdubbing). A more generic tool would be the beat repeat but that would only loop for one bar.
If the Looper was in a Return channel, you could also EQ that channel like a dj.

If I've understood correctly, this is really basic stuff. I recommend taking the built in lessons (focus on techniques, not the example audio!) and spending a little time with you new friend, the manual.MizTheWizKid wrote:Hello everyone,

Well I was really looking for a little more guidance... I by no means expect anyone to do anything for me but I was hoping to get some more solid information that would actually help. I have read the manuals for both Maschine and Ableton Live and neither of them cover live performance set ups.
I guess to break down my questions and make it more basic, it would be like this:
Can I use multiple instances of Maschine in one Ableton Live project, each instance of Maschine having its own individual beat that I made. Then somehow use Ableton live to play back each instance one after the other?
How would one go about setting something like that up? Once I guess this figured out I will make a video and post it up here for anyone else who needs to know how to do this. I am sure there are a lot of people that would be interested. Maybe we can all put our heads together and compile some information that will helps us all?

Sorry, I'm 4 days into quitting smoking and I read your post at an impatient moment. My apologies
Re: Help With Live Set
look up "follow actions" in the manual. you basically put each of these beats of yours on a different clip in a single track, select them all, then set the follow action to "next".MizTheWizKid wrote:Well I was really looking for a little more guidance...
