@80

Multitasking FTW. I cannot live without it at this point. Not only for regular iPad use, but especially for performance with instrument and music apps. In fact, I'll be jailbreaking soon so that sound generating apps such as Molten will keep....um....generating sound whilst I switch back into touchAble. :x

Ah, cheers, yeah, that makes a lot of sense for sound generation/track playing apps... 8)

The Uno app for iPad and iPhone is on sale for $1 because it's the anniversary of the game.

What I don't get is it has difficulty levels and it's a fairly straight forward card game so that shouldn't even be an option. From what I can tell increasing the difficulty level just gives the AI better cards than you have. Sure buddy, your first hand has 4 draw 2 cards and 1 draw 4. Gee, how did you beat me?!? :x :x

THIS JUST IN. YOU CAN NOW (OR SOON WILL BE ABLE TO) CHANGE THE SIDE BUTTON TO BE AN ORIENTATION LOCK INSTEAD OF MUTE AS A PREFERENCE IN THE SETTINGS APP. YES! :!:

No word from Woz yet. :x

LSZ are you FINALLY going to get a new iPhone when the 5 comes out? Apple is officially abandoning older models as far as OS updates when the next update comes out, and that's on models that are even newer than yours.

I'm losing sleep over your situation over there. :x

Tnx for the concern beats, and impeccable timing as usual.

My 1st gen iPhone is on it's last legs. You can hear it wheezing at this point. Battery doesn't quite hold it's charge the way it used to. Apps get slower and slower to open.

Question: iPhone4 now, or hold out for the 5?

I'm making this your call beats. Putting it all on your shoulders.

4 or 5, you win either way. But since Macworld is descending upon us at the end of the month I would assume there might be a 5 release date announced. Most are expecting it will be in the April/May area. You might just have to baby your iPhone 1 a bit longer as I know you have been this entire time.

Speaking of babying, I've never thought of a reason to have kids before but I just thought of one. So I can make a mobile of my old Apple gadgetry to hang over their crib. Wait. Fuck that. I'm going to make one to hang over my own bed. :x

That was very non-committal beats. :x

Okay, doing research now as to the likelyhood of an iPhone5 before the summer.

That you can sort apps in the iPad app store according to popularity, but you cannot seem to do so on iTunes is SHIT.

what about cleaning your cache etc. in your gen 1? If you've had it that long and used it for interwebz surely you amassed quite the collection of left over web rubbish.

Jesus Christ.

First MW reminds me that I can use automation on MacOS which would save me time in loading up a set and creating a new ad hoc network and whatnot.

Then you come alone with this most basic of tips that seems to have slipped my mind - along with the fact that maybe I should delete some emails and photos and voicemails that have built up as well.

At this point, we should talk about you, MW, and beats becoming my Life Coaches because, seriously, there's got to be more (and bigger) shit that I'm utterly overlooking in my life that would make things much easier.

I am truly embarrassed that H20only lives but 45 minutes from my very front door and I have not bought the man a beer.

^ i'll have an IPA please.

Loops its okay. i know its hard to see when you have everything above your shoulders firmly planted in Steve Jobsie's arse.

the rest or your life is clearly an oversight since the stork delivered your bouncing baby iPad. All that holding and tickling its face can be exhausting - not to mention heating up its Apple only iBinky thing with the USB on the other end... its iBilical cord flopping about and those precious few moments when its not craving more juice seem so short. one day it will grow up and do what the other technologies on the playground do... yes that moment that every parent simply tries not to think about... when their precious little treasure, stops suckling their hard earned juice and goes and finds a place to settle down after becoming obsolete. a place to live out its life expectancy, perhaps even its warranty if it leaves your arms early, some place to spend the rest of its days in dust, among household vermin and seasonal decorations... eventually ending up with things found in places where other things are sent to be forgotten or simply forgotten or some such. do we ever really know?

my calculator watch was just a boy, no more than 2 when he went to go live in... well, i'm not sure. so i can relate.

you poor dear.

Okay.

Trying to jailbreak your iPad is a MINDNUMBING experience.

Holy. Fucking. Shit.

Seems like prior to 4.2.1 there was a nifty app called SPIRIT that would, in just a few clicks, jailbreak your iPad and bring you wonderous gifts immediately. No one has heard of the developer in ages, so there's other workarounds. It's almost impossible to make sense out of them.

At first you had to have something called a TETHERED jailbreak - which means you have to rejailbreak every time you power down your device. Then unteathered became available. But both of these were not the SPIRIT version, so that means they are a pain in the ass to implement.

Then I found this video and I'm like...nice. A walk thru.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CSEufUsdV4

Then you discover that NONE of the fucking links work to download anything.

I want to be able to send ANYTHING to my ATV2, dammit. NOW.

Speaking of streaming crap to the ATV2, why are there so many apps that have video in them but when you go to stream to ATV2 all they send over is the audio. :x

Also I was playing a game and prior to playing that game I did just such a failed attempt at sending video to the ATV2 from another app and when I went to play the game the audio for the game was still going to the ATV2. It took a bit of some head scratching to determine I had to go to the multi-task bar and do a right swipe to tell the damn thing to keep the audio on the iPad. :x

Half-assed implementation. :x

Also I'm considering getting an airprint enabled printer but I fear I will come to similar conclusions about the number of apps that should have it but don't. :x
