Arrangement View Question.

Post by kringe » Mon Jan 17, 2011 5:16 pm

HI. In Pro Tools there is an editing mode that allows you to take multiple tracks and copy and paste to repeat the parts and it automatically pushes the rest of the arrangement 'forward' accordingly. The sequence stays intact from that point forward. How is this achieved in Ableton Live?

Thanks. MC

Select the tracks and or portions of the tracks then hit CTRL + D for Duplicate and it will add the selection accordingly after.

Thanks. That sounds simple enough. I will try when I'm back on the buttons. Does the duplicate automatically push the clips forward or will it 'cover' them?

It will place them directly behind the clip(s) you have selected. You don't have to press copy or anything, just select and ctrl+d. It's nice when you want to lay out a bunch of clips quickly so you can have time to record automation or whatever.
