Granular/graintable synth

Post by dag451 » Tue Jan 18, 2011 1:19 pm

Live already uses granular resynthesis to warp clips etc. why can't we have a graintable/granular synth included along with the built in instruments?

+1! Live has VA, FM, physical modeling, and good samplers. A granular synth would be a great addition.

...although, recently I've just been resampling Operator's waves into Sampler and doing granular stuff that way. Makes sense really.

I've been looking for a good granular synt for a long time, and it looks like Robert Henke aka "Monlake" has put and end to mine and many other's searches.

He made a granular synth but you need Live 8.2.2 or higher for it. Time for upgrading!

you also need max for live

i don't think designing an already available granular synth is a good use of ableton's resources.. isn't that why m4l was created? all those other synths were made before m4l came into existence.

Cheers for the heads up, and you do raise good points. I've been meaning to get onto M4L for a while. That's really the solution to a lot of my problems in Live.

off-topic, but a great granular mangler, and pretty cheap (well, cheaper than MFL) :
