Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
There is only one (as covered in the beta thread) and it’s the one you just sent. Also, please post about the beta in the beta thread.

A new beta is available that resolves the issue JuanSolo reported (related to recalling Snaps on devices where Live has marked the device’s parameters as disabled) and adds some new features.

Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
Haven't been able to get it to load.. Renamed my previous ClyphX folder "ClyphXbackup" and threw the new one in and it doesn't work.. I can tell because it doesn't give me the box around the selected clip and my backup does.. There isn't anything you've got to do to install it other than putting the ClyphX folder into MIDI remote scripts, right?metastatik wrote:A new beta is available that resolves the issue JuanSolo reported (related to recalling Snaps on devices where Live has marked the device’s parameters as disabled) and adds some new features.

You shouldn’t rename the ClyphX folder. Aside from transferring the ClyphX folder, you may also need to select ClyphX as a control surface.
If you need further assistance with this, please refer to the first post in the beta thread for info on how to send me your Log file.

I actually just renamed the PREVIOUS version in order to keep a backup of it incase this one didn't work.. and it's the one labeled "ClyphXbackup" that still works, the new one I just copied in there as "ClyphX" - selected it as a control surface and it doesn't work for me..
No biggie, I'm using the previous version with no problems and no need for any of the extra features (i don't even know what they are TBH)
I'm going to try again in a few, cheers and thanks again for the freebies and the custom CL3 you hooked me up with!

Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
You shouldn’t rename any ClyphX folder. There should only be one ClyphX folder in your Midi Remote Scripts directory and it should be named ClyphX. If you’d like to keep back ups, please keep them elsewhere.
It’d be helpful to the beta and to ClyphX development in general if you could try doing a standard set up (no renaming folders in the Midi Remote Scripts directory) with the current beta. If you should have trouble, send me your Log.txt file.

Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
I'm in for this and wanted to give metastatik a word of appreciation for his amazing work. ALready had NPK Live & LPC-Live but clyphx is a beast for itself.friend_kami wrote:+100barstu wrote:+1chapelier fou wrote:Hello ableton,
Would you consider adding this as a feature ? This would improve live's workflow, add support, give money to metastasik and garantee that's it's gonna work for years. After all it can be seen as an extension of scene names with bpm and time sig. It's the most elegant solution ever.
Just my opinion.
Hope you know that you are a Live-hacking-genius
Props to you!!!!!!!

I also want to chime in and say that this is fantastic work.
The manual is quite cryptic, but I will definetly try to use some of it in my big performance liveset.

Thanks for the kind words everybody.
Sorry to hear you find it cryptic. Any ideas on how that can be improved? The manual is quite cryptic

Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
Of course, different people will read things differently and have different opinions about the same things. And I'm by no means saying that you are wrong. But my opinion is that the manual is not cryptic at all and is actually pretty comprehensive and informative. What in particular did you find to be cryptic?pepezabala wrote:The manual is quite cryptic

On a second read it's not that cryptic any longer. Sorry for moaning!!
Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
Using the beta now, and been using ClyphX for a couple of weeks - I have to say, it's fantastic - this really changes things up!! Great job
The manual's fine for me as well!
