Novation Remote Zero SL & Ableton Live 8

Hi,

I have just got a Novation Remote Zero SL. I am looking to set it up as a DJ controller in Ableton live.

At this stage I am not looking to use the Automap software or anything too fancy, I just want to be able to set the midi mappings myself within Ableton.

I can set the faders on the right hand side without a problem but I want to be able to use the 2 buttons just below (2 rows of 8 below the faders) to start and stop clips. I can assign the control in the midi mapping software and it accepts it, but then does nothing when I try to use it...

I suspect it is to do with the internal templates or something along those lines. Essentially I just want to be able to start with a blank canvas and assign controls that I specify as I normally would in Ableton, it is just these 2 rows of 8 buttons that won't seem to map.

I have updated to the latest OS, still no good...

Did you try the "template editor" ?
