No sound via Soundcard

Greetings Ableton folk I' m new here so please be gentle :D

Recent convert to all that is Ableton. Bought Live 8 and running it through a Focusrite Sapphirre 6 UsB soundcard into my laptop but it has 2x input from my Pioneer DJM500 mixer via the XLR Combo lead with 2x male fittings from my mixer on what is allegedly a 2nd Master Ouput into the 2x female fitting XLR input of the soundcard but I' m not getting any sound only a loud buzzing with the faintest of sinals.

Please shed some light for my dilemma and thanks for your feedback. I get the feeling this forum is going to come in handy.

Hi, your setup is a bit unclear, can you clarify? It sounds like you want to have the DJM500 going through your interface in to Live, and also that you're looking to use your interface for output from Live. Is this correct? Do you have the interface selected for input and output, under Preferences->Audio? Also, have you configured to have all the inputs and outputs enabled for your interface?
