M-Audio Axiom keyboard woes

Post by robosanta » Sun Jan 23, 2011 9:29 pm

Hi,

This isn't really an Ableton question, but I haven't gotten any response on the M-Audio forums so thought I'd try here.

I have a new Axiom 25 2nd-gen keyboard controller, and I want to make the pads act as CC toggles, so I can turn on something in Ableton with one hit and turn it off with the next hit. I followed the instructions here: http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=sup ... 0cdcd7a562 to the letter, 8 billion times, but I can't get the pad to toggle. It just shoots up when I hit and goes back to 0 when I release it. Any ideas? This is driving me completely batty.

First tip, if you are toggling an on/off button or trying to fire clips, set first and 2nd press to 127. You aren't after anything but a full value.

If you're trying to fire clips, make sure the clip setting is on 'toggle' in Live.

I'm not firing clips. I want to turn an audio effect on and off. First press = turn on, Second press = turn off.

I don't have the Axiom, but what do you mean by 'shoots up'? Is that a value on the readout or something?

Have you tried to MIDI map this function in Live yet? On the FX you want to toggle? What MIDI message are you getting in Live's map chart when you do this?

I know how to do it in Ableton, it's a specific issue with this hardware.
