When you launch the 10th clip on track six that is orange coloured @ 140.4 bpm @ 12.01 am on a tuesday night of the month of June during a full moon while its raining and the temperature is 96 during an earthquake and you have all of the lights turned off except the living room light the timing will be off by .0000001. have you ever played on stage with one of the ableton controlers? probably not otherwise you would hate that 2 keystrokes for basic operations..

ok.. people that dont play life and just trigger schenes wont get that aswell.. but when you have a hand on a keyboard while trying to use one of theese dedicated controlers..and than you touch a roland drummachine from the 1980´s you imideatly realize which equipment was designed for stage use and which just for the looks.

so aslong you dont have to contrbute something usefull soare me with your barfing dog arguments..

problem with workaroundelton is that you are constantly forced to concentrate on things the software cant do..started with truncating clips and midi and ends with rip off controlers and grouptracks one cant run collapsed.. and i dont start with missing but sold features because i dont care about new features aslong syncing sucks big time

I'm confused, guys. You keep talking about "alt+clicking-and-dragging" in the drum rack to make a copy. For me alt doesnt make a copy, I have to use ctrl?

Also how are you able to drag a sound from a drum rack into an audio track to create a clip? Live won't let me do that, no matter what I try.

on a mac you press alt while clicking on a drumrack slot and move that to an empty location..while keeping the alt key pressed..

and you cant make audio clips from drumrack slots..its the other way around..you can drag a clip from the session grid onto an empty drumrack slot

no handling of program changes in lifes midi recordings


so you cant capture n artits performance that involves programchanges and have to reconstruct that later ..what can involve serious time when some rather random program changes are involved whereyou have to find the wright one one machine that holds 1000 programs in its 8 program banks..

a kind of midi list editor is missing

that comes together with the inability to handle and display sysex strings.. which get send by some older synths on parameter changes.
