2.0.2 has a limit of 238 samples per set??

Post by 238 » Sun Feb 23, 2003 2:57 am

Hello everybody,

i don't know if anyone noticed this, but Live 2 does not allow to use more than 238 samples per set... at least, in my machine!

this is what i've done:

1. i've tried to import an old set from 1.5, with 268 samples on it.. i got 30 messages of unrecognized file...

2. then, i've splited the original set in 1.5, and imported part 1 to live 2.. no problem.. then i've copied the samples from part 2, and pasted on part 1.. again the same message of error!

3. i've created a new empty set in 2.0.2, and started draggin samples into it.. when i've reached 238, live begins to give me the 'unrecognized sample' error, apart from wich sample i use... even if i try to record a new one, i allways get the error..

i use a powerbook g4 under os 10.2.4

anyone can reproduce this one?

Hi 238,

you're totally right. Ok, not totally because on my Mac I can go up to 241 samples instead of 238. :-)

It's a bug in Live 2.0.2 (also in Live 2.0.1). It's a problem with maximal numbers of files to open at the same time. This problem will be solved with another bugfixe update coming soon.

I think that dragging one sample after another is a really boring job so a big thanks for your invested time and energy.

regards,
Alex

Ok, so you're 3 samples luckier than me :D

glad to know it's a known bug, and you folks are planning to smash it in a near future!

i've solved my problem temporarily, cutting my set into two parts..

maybe this way i'll get a pause for a drink between parts during a live act

thanks for the reply alex
