auditioning MIDI files: can we change the sound?

Post by bob123 » Mon Jan 31, 2011 4:29 pm

hi
when we have an ableton song playing (actually this doesnt matter)
and then MIDI files/midi clips, there is a default sound, like a sine wavy sound that plays
the MIDI notes, can we change this?

ive tried making a midi track with a vst synth, but when you select a midi file, it still plays
in that default sound.

its just i have a bunch of midi files with riffs and chord ideas, and would like to browse them in real time
when working in ableton, but also choose a diff sound.

thankyou
