Recording cc jumps automation in arrangement view?

Post by djlimbs » Sat Feb 05, 2011 2:12 am

Whenever I record CC jumps in arrangement view (for example using CC scaling on a launchpad or assigning specific velocity values to the same CC across pads) Ableton seems to automatically create slopes connecting where the automation jump is read. is there any way to turn this off? when i'm jumping between values in an LFO i don't want it to be a smooth sweep, I want instant change! Thanks

Are you sure the input isn't sweeping through a continuous range to begin with? I sometimes record CC info generated from Max. If I have Max send a 0, then a 60, I see a discrete jump from 0 to 60 in Ableton.

first idea: search for automation smoothing and config file. live has a smoothing for automation with the default settings.

second thought... you don't talk about this, right?
