Midi file Question

Hi,

Is there a way I can import midi files into Ableton Live from a Guitar Pro5 .gp4 file? I usually drag in .mid files without any issue, so I assume there's the same kind of information somewhere in a .gp4 file.... ? Help!

GP4 file format is nothing like a midi file (I think), BUT guitar pro and other softwares that handle GP4 format all have a "Export to midi" feature (usually under the "File" menu).

Then of course you can import your midi file like any other in Live

If you don't own GuitarPro (but I suppose you do if you use .gp4), you can download TuxGuitar for free
