While I don't think it's too small, I can see where people who are playing high energy live shows might have an issue with hitting the wrong foot pad. You DEFINITELY do not want to be wearing the trusty Doc Martens when using the SoftStep.More like Chuck Taylors. They don't call it 'SoftStep' for nothing, lol.
Glad to hear you're liking it more, you owe me beeyoch!

Yeah, I think the size is going to be the number one complaint. I see what the intent was - make the thing ultra portable, but that may have been carried too far. Perhaps KMI were really trying to zealously go in the opposite direction of the FCB1010? Or maybe it's even a technical issue? Perhaps larger pad sensors just weren't conducting that well or there were issues if they went larger? I do think that the pads could have stayed the same size, but placed further apart.
A bigger version would make everything a bit easier. Even now I do have to be a bit careful when selecting a pad.
One cool feature that helps a bit with the small size is that when you press down on any pedal, you can program the board so that if your heel or something accidently rubs on another pedal, nothing will happen. This is helptul for the XY/rotation stuff.
