I just wish we could get wireless automatic sync when on my home wifi. Or even a sync button I have to press on my iPhone/iPad/etc. So dumb I have to manually connect them up and do it manually.

This was from a post I made back in May:
LoopStationZebra wrote: NO WIRELESS SYNC (i mean, wtf is up with Apple and their refusal to directly support wireless sync? retarded)
This is one of the major areas where Apple and Jobs are just completely out of their minds. They prattle on and on about wireless and the cloud and how mobile is the future, yet they have never once offered wireless sync for their iDevices; nor has there been any major rumour of them doing so... :x
I came for the

seems like it would be a security issue... or at bare minimum a bandwidth issue. iDevices in backpacks and cars etc going from location to location on AT&Ts under equipped no-so-nationwide network. you get enough teeny boppers in a square mile connecting to everything that sends out a signal and pretty soon you have a load balancing nightmare.

maybe with the iPad this would work because it actually turns off, but i get the impression that each of these "genius, revolutionary!" devices is not much different than the last internally - except for maybe a little extra disk space and a larger display.

I'll just say now that I'm getting excited about the iPad 3. :P

And I predict failure of the iPad 2 from those who already have an iPad. I think the difference is going to be roughly the same as the iPhone 3 and iPhone 3GS, not much...or at least not enough to make you want to pluck down another $500 minimum if you already have an iPad.

But what it could do though is make a 2nd first gen iPad appealing in the refurb store at a reduced price. as I stated recently, I think all these music apps are making it apparent that 1 iPad isn't enough if you're really hardcore about music on iOS.

And a final thought in this post, it already seems the writing is on the wall that you won't be able to expect the same kind of longevity from an idevice that you get from a computer….maybe 3 years tops and then you'll no longer be able to use the latest and greatest apps, period. So my iPad is already a third of it's life to the grave. :x

Indeed. The other concern is app life. When apps aren't supported by a major dev, you really run the risk of them having a limited shelf life. Good news is that there will always be something new. Bad news is that there will always be something new. Look at the iTouchMIDI app as a good example. Awesome early iPhone app, dev'd for a year, then the guy vanishes. :P

Music apps are fairly niche with a slow introduction rate. But in the world of game apps a new game has an excitement life of 3 days before something better comes along. And they're cheap...irresponsibly cheap. Lord help me about the cheeeeeap. :x

For the price some clown just slapped down for a new console game I bought 20 - 50 game apps, more than a fair share with graphics and game play on par with consoles. There's even games they ported from consoles or PCs and I have no fucking clue how you would even play them without the use of a touch screen. 8O :x
