May not seem the most exciting, but it's so much more comfortable than my drum stool, and I can quickly move in and out from my computer, and over to my guitar rig. If you're thinking of buying a new chair do it! I'm sure it'll make my parts and mixing better than a new synth or something similar!

Best new Bit of Studio Kit!
I've just bought a great new bit of studio equipment... a decent chair!

I like my chair, but I wish I could take the arms off...they get in the way when guitaring if sitting down.
Re: Best new Bit of Studio Kit!
i really need a new chair in the studio but all the ergo ones i was looking at are SO expensive. what did you end up purchasing?
Re: Best new Bit of Studio Kit!
My chair is essential to the studio. Check Craigslist, I got a fully loaded Aeron in new shape for less than $350.

Re: Best new Bit of Studio Kit!
I went for a 2nd hand office one. It's not that fancy, or a special ergonomic one, but has good support but is very comfy, and the fact it's 2nd hand meant I could get a better chair for less money.
I went for no arms so I can play guitar in it. I'd have gone for arms if I didn't. I was looking at some chairs that had arms I could unbolt, but decided it wasn't worth it, and just got one without.

I like the arms a lot for normal stuff, but for guitar playing they can be weird. I just use a stool from another room if I want to play the guitar.Franz-Olof wrote:Was just browsing for a chair too. Found my self wondering should I buy a one with arms or without...?

Oh yeah, I'll probably have it with arms since I rarely play guitar (or bass).

Got me an Ethan Allen Delaney for geetarin'. I'm thinking about getting a swopper for my desk chair.Tarekith wrote:I like the arms a lot for normal stuff, but for guitar playing they can be weird.
