I've been playing music since I was a young kid, starting with school band, woodwinds, trumpet, drums, then practically wore out my older brother's electric guitar until getting one for myself, mostly toying around with that for years and years,... well music kinda took a back seat to school/work/family/bicycle racing/motorcycles,.. you know, those other passions.
And now, over the last year or two,... it's back! Mostly prompted by my two young daughters growing interest in music, playing guitar and piano, and my older daughter writing songs/poetry etc,... Over the last several months I've been downloading trial software from everyone and composing some things (my daughters have as well when I'm not hogging the thing), learning, playing, loving every minute of it. Anyway, after trying some of the others out there, I ran into Ableton Live and it feels like home! It just feels so intuitive with the Session view, the whole user interface experience, you name it. I feel like it was made for me and the way I think. Probably many of you have had similar experiences with it, you're here after all. I think the best way I can explain it is that it feels like I'm playing an instrument, rather than struggling with software. It's a joy.
I've been using the Suite 30 Day demo and it's gonna be up in a few days (oh no!!!), so here's the question.
Should I just get Live Intro and be done with it? Will it be enough for me? or will I soon find myself wanting Live or the Suite? Should I save my pennies for Live or dive into Live Intro now? Who is using Live Intro and have you found yourself wanting to upgrade? I have to say I watched the Live Intro videos here and it looks like it may serve me well, but I just don't know. Will the upgrade path to Live or Suite be economical for me when that time comes?
That's the question. Sorry for my ramblings.
