saving live sets to do reinstall.

I have lite 6. I bought this several years ago, this is my second bout of trying to use it, and it is very disheartening. I would consider the full version if I could get some faith in using the lite. It works fine for a while , then my music ends up corrupted, and full of noise and distortion. After the first bout I gave up. Now I have a much faster computer with much more memory so I thought I would try again. I had several months of work down, and things seemed to be progressing, then my male vocal audio effect glitched with lots of noise and distortion. I Started getting error messages saying it had encountered a problem and live would have to shut down, I click okay but it doesn't shut down. That happened on several occasioons when I was swapping effects to listen to.
Now I have noise when I use male vocal, and I use this on everything. I read the FAQ section, and followed their advice to reinstall for a corrupt library. I saved the folder project folder with all the live sets in it (as hinted at in FAQ), reinstalled , but now all of my work says sample off line, and will play nothing!!! Why have FAQ if you don't go into enough detail to help anyone. Why isn't there more online help to answer these questions?? So am I right in assuming the work is gone for good? I uninstalled the live, then per FAQ went to doc settings/ user/........ and removed the lbrary, saving the project folder.
What is the EXACT and correct procedure for saving work when doing an uninstall. I since have read something else about make sure you save your set as a complete project? or something like that. What does that mean and how is it done?

I run XP pro on a dual core pentium, 4kG of ram.

probably means that you select "collect and save" from the menue, instead of just "save".
that saves everything in your project (live-set) including the samples. so, no matter where you had them from, they will be saved to use on every system.

Yeah, Collect All and Save is what you're looking for.. but be careful for things like Battery3, where it may be using samples from a sample library and Live doesn't recognize those as files that are being used in the project, so those WON'T get saved into the project automatically.. just a heads up, cheers!
