How to delete unused recorded samples?
How do I delete unused samples/recordings when I record multiple takes with Ableton?
Re: How to delete unused recorded samples?
Manage Files in the menu. Also check the manual for "manage files"

In the 'Manage Project" area, you'll see a section to view unused files. Do read the manual on that to get the full perspective of related features. Live's manual has very helpful organization and explanation of features.

forget about the manual.. the filemanagement sucks.. the only way to do it to do a safe as with a changed name into a new folder..and than do a collect all and safe.. and than erease the old folder..
than you got rid of the unwanted files the fastest way..
If you cant do it wright blame it on the user

I use the file management daily, including erasing unused samples, and it works just fine for me. You give no indication of what specifically is going wrong for you.3phase wrote:forget about the manual.. the filemanagement sucks.. the only way to do it to do a safe as with a changed name into a new folder..and than do a collect all and safe.. and than erease the old folder..
When you do a "manage project" operation, it will show you a list of all the unused files in the project. This is good because it examines every Live Set in the project, so you won't inadvertently delete something that's in use by another Live Set in the same project. When you get the list of the unused files in the browser on the left, you can simply select them all and delete them. Works fine, very reliable, never once had it do anything untoward.

Re: How to delete unused recorded samples?
Still ten years later in 2021 deleting unused samples is not that comfortable. It takes a lot of time and attention to just clean the project. May be serious people just use Ableton the different way, so they do not need a quick way to just trash recorded samples they do not use?
