I found this thread while googling for a solution to Battery 3's problem of just randomly not playing samples anymore. It's happened to a number of people and NI doesn't care. I've had some horrible issues with NI. They charged (put a hold on the funds for a week) my credit card multiple times without telling me, because my bank apparently didn't like their verification software. So, they had my money, twice, but wouldn't give me a product for it. Once I bought it with another credit card, they told me they sent me a link to download the software, but after going in circles with them about not getting a link, I told them to just give me my damn money back because they're f*cking retarded.

This past fall during their sale, I bought Guitar Rig 4 with the Kontrol Rig and emailed them after not receiving it for a month. They said they ran out of stock and would give me a refund. So were they just going to keep my money forever if I didn't email them? Then, they didn't bother to actually give me a refund and I had to use paypal to fight them to get my refund. I hate this company and I will never buy anything from them again and they deserve to go bankrupt. I normally don't support ripping off software companies, but NI is one of the shittiest companies out there. I've had nothing but horrible encounters with them. What they do should be illegal.

leedsquietman wrote:NI's stuff is OK. Some of it is excellent. They don't have the best reputation for customer service and that definately needs to improved but this ranting is lame and makes the people doing it look totally unintelligent.

I have FM8 and Massive and love them both. Both are legit. I worked my ass off to buy these and all my software, rather than feeling entitled to do F ALL, pay F ALL and steal bad copies through p2p. I don't need to worry about a fellow from Waves etc. dropping by incognito and having lawyers subpoena me for larceny.

People ranting on about NI deserving to be cracked wouldn't say that about Live in this forum or they'd be jumped on. And Live has plenty of bugs that need working out and empty promises on some things too.

Ranting is OK but then we get the followers jumping on a bandwagon. Most of the people complaining about NI's software in this and other forums are the ones using cracks anyway. Blame the freaking Russian virus mongers making the cracks for those problems. And also remember that some of Ableton's team such as Gerhard used to be employees of Native Instruments...

Also, is it worth having to reformat your harddrive because the buggy as all hell crack corrupted your machine, which frequently happens as they are either a)loaded with viruses, b) poorly written, terrible installers, can't be removed from the registry etc. Frankly I don't care if people run cracks, they gotta live with their conscience and take the consequences and cracks never work properly anyway, you get what you pay for. Pay nothing and get HD reformats, bugs galore and options not working.

If you don't like NI then don't buy it. Don't even crack it. Walk on by and when their bottom line is hurting, and their software so unpopular that people don't even want to pirate it, that might cause them to rethink their policies.

lol, you get what you pay for? Not with NI. You get shitty products that break down and are never fixed, IF you get anything at all. I bought battery 3 and it's a piece of crap now on two computers. I tried to buy two other soft synths and they would never send me the down load link (yes, I checked my junk mail and had them on my safe list). I bought a piece of hardware along with their software and got nothing. You don't always get what you pay for. Sometimes you just get a group of douche bags blowing smoke up your ass until you smarten up and realize you're giving money to con artists who are really good at GUI and website design, but they don't give two shits about customer service or actual product usability.

Battery seems to me to be a potentially very good, but somewhat lost product as much of the really good drum kits come out for kontakt instead (Abbey road stuff).
To be fair, the couple of times I have contacted NI support they have been FAR more responsive and helpful than ableton.

This thread dattes back from 2006 - NI have change alot since then - these days I rate their stuff as among the most reliable and good sounding for the money in this industry. Back in 2006 - yeh - I didnt touch any of their stuff, but they have come a long way since then. Now I have nearly everything they do (2 NI audio interfaces Ak1 and 8DJ, X1, TSP, Maschine, Komplete 7 and a load of expansions and Kore 2) and rely upon much of it most days. The only slighly flakey bit of software of theirs I now have is Maschine 1.6 beta - but its a beta, so what can you expect? I do however expect traktor pro 2 will have its launch issues.

I think the experience for PC user may be better than for Mac users perhaps, but Mac user are in the process of getting the 64 bit refreshes that PC users have had for a while, hopefully we will see reaktor and kore updated soon as well.

Battery and Kore seems to be their weakest current products (and the most due for a heavy overhaul), in fact I not quite sure where battery really fits now between Maschine and Kontakt drums. What battery offere is the articulations - kind of then Ableton should do as an extension to the drum rack (for flams, rolls etc) and thats basically all I use battery for now - drum rack with very useful articulations, but it means loading the samples into battery.

Have to admit, Absynth and FM8 are feeling a bit old too, but they are now, but both still very useful.
Nothing to see here - move along!

....hey suckers....about 15 % of ALL NI SOFTWARE is paid....the rest is cracks all over....ni was one of the first companies out there giving even the poorest ass the option to call himself a producer...

Ni products are the most used and most cracked sofwaretools in musicbusiness...

If at least half of all ni users would have paid for only one ni product they use, ni could afford a better custumer service for sure....

So go on with your disrespect for the people giving you the tools you use....more cheap music made with even more cheap systems done by cheap minds....
You'll you never gonna get it, suckers.....
