loads of audio schools, the most prominent in the states being Berkley school of Music in Boston. Do you know what you want to do? Like sound design for video games? Movies? TV Adverts? Your best bet is to find someone in that industry, ask to take them out to lunch and pick their brain on what steps you could take both educationally & professionally to land that job. I did that when i was a sophomore in college and it was a wonderful learning experience.

Well, I was looking into doing sound for film. yeah, i've looked into berkely, but that school is so expensive, I don't think there is anyway I could afford it. And, i was looking into full sail, but i've heard so many bad things about that place. I can't seem to find much information for schools focusing on sound for film. Well, I have came across a few schools, but every time I search for a different school, the same 3 or 4 schools show up. There has to be more schools out there than that. Maybe I am wording it wrong when I'm searching for it. I'm not looking for a school based on doing like live recording. I want to find a school that actually focuses on sound design.

In all honesty man, you need to find someone in the field, email/call, speak to someone who could help you out.

That said, all of these will most likely be able to help you with your decision:

I would contact academic guidance councilors for the ones you decide to apply to for more info.

Try looking at film schools and seeing what audio production courses they have.
