Apogee JAM adapter for input in the video. not even on the apogee website yet.
Apogee? Nice. Finally something of decent sound and build quality...Let's hope.

11:13AM "The hardware and software need to intertwine more than they do on a PC. We think we're on the right path with this."
11:12AM "This is worth repeating. It's in Apple's DNA that technology is not enough. It's tech married with the liberal arts and the humanities. Nowhere is that more true than in the post-PC products. Our competitors are looking at this like it's the next PC market. That is not the right approach to this. These are pos-PC devices that need to be easier to use than a PC, more intuitive."

FWIW:
The Apple Garage Band for iPad page says you can send projects to a Mac's Garage Band.
So that's pretty much a given that you can send it to logic, or even export the bits and import to Live. I think, but could be wrong.
Good.
And the 11th is my birthday.

I’m going to have to take a couple days to soak this all in and THANK GOD it doesn’t go on sale today or tomorrow. A week and a half gives us all time to come to our senses (or not).
But really the biggest thing I was hoping for as far as hardware is a MUCH bigger drive. Didn’t happen….unless I missed it? Second biggest thing was a big weight reduction, like Kindle light. Also didn’t happen. Don’t remember what the exact weight decrease is but it didn’t look impressive…almost laughable to advertise.
But even just getting iMovie and Garageband is still a bag full of awesomeness.

Dude, the drive size DOUBLED to 64GB.
Oh. Wait.
Fuck the drive size, I say! It's dual core goodness baby. And 9x more graphic power. Oh my.
But I agree. I'm gonna have to take a few days and really think this over because both an iP5 and iPad2 aren't really in the budget.

I would have loved a storage increase too. 16GB isn't enough for me, 32GB is alright, but 64-128 is what I'm really interested in.
But then the device (64GB) is approaching a price level that's higher than I want to pay for a tablet.
We'll see.
I didn't see/hear anything about RAM.
Surely it's NOT 256MB.
Surely.
The refurbished generation 1 ipads are pretty cheap on the apple site now.

I don't know what you are talking about because the drive on my current iPad is 64GB.....59.2GB exactly if you really want to split hairs and go by what it actually says in the "About" screen on my iPad.

I'd go for the iPhone 5 because that's long overdue for you. The iPad 2 is more of a reflexive "must have!" response to today's announcement.
MIDI support will still be ass.

Genius move on the part of Apple, btw.
HUGE update but some things like HD and speaker location and screen res stay the same.
Give them enough to have it be a fucking GAME CHANGER and sell like hotcakes.
Then, in the fall, hit 'em hard again with the iPad3.
Motorola is weeping right about now.

Yeah, I have to agree that Apple kind of smoke and mirrored us on this one and then further third railed us with OS upgrades that will actually be available on the first gen iPads as well but the presentation would lead those less astute to believe they need an iPad 2 to take advantage.
Brav-fucking-o.

agreed...
anyone that was even thinking about releasing a competitive product probably just threw their hands up, said fuck it and went to have a beer. meanwhile, i think Apple went from ahead of the curve to ahead of the S curve

because they can't preorder an iPad 2 until March 11 anyway. meanwhile, i think Apple went from ahead of the curve to ahead of the S curve
I changed some things around there. Hope you don't mind.
