Playing Midi notes while playback without recording?!

Post by XHale » Thu Mar 03, 2011 8:28 am

Hey guys,

is there any possibility to play an instrument in Live while playback without recording the notes I just played?
I thought it would only record if the global record button at the transport bar is activated.
But that only seems to work for audio, doesn't it?

Cheers

Set the monitoring on that track to IN.

ahh ok, how easy...
But shouldn't the record button at the top control the recording behavior?

This is the Global Record Button which records all actions into the Arrangement View.

Track Monitoring determines whether you are hearing either the input or a clip of a designated track when it is armed for record.
