i just had one yesterday while changing the sidechain of a compressor while running..
and it just started playing whne i pressed the quote button in the forum page...
besides it behaves badly regarding the latency compensation for clocked extarnal machines..the recordings are placed badly and the only way to have them properly alligned it ti have an individual offset delay on each track..
that wasnt the case a gfew versions ago and is not an improovment.. i ve mnetioned this maybe half a year ago..nothing has happened sofar..
not ideal.. hope it dont crashes on the weekend.. i willplay life again.. and am still not cured.. to much nice sequences recorded lately.. but now way to cary an oberheim 4 voice on stage..
i wonder if apples mainstage can be an option?

Do you need the entire Logic app, or is it a standalone app?3phase wrote:i wonder if apples mainstage can be an option?

Oh, it's just having a mid-life and identity crisis right now. It lost its shiny paint job and its leaking oil pretty bad. And I think its running on 3 pistons right now. And the ass kissing fan boys that troll these forums at all hours of the day, everyday (you know who you are, you brown nosing bitches! What happened to Ableton Live?
I wouldn't hold my breathe, this fuckers gonna be in the shop for a long time. And when it gets out, you'll be taking it back in for repairs for some OTHER shit now... And then you'll wonder why you even dumped any more money in this pile of shit once again instead of dropping for a reliable source of musical transportation.

Hi everyone - if you're interested in keeping up with the latest developments to Live, you might be interested in the latest beta: http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=160371
Other than that, things are cooking and will be announced when the time is right. Thanks for the honest feedback!

It's slightly reminiscent of those tiny little fufu dogs that bark really loud and bum rush you like Kerby Pucket on steroids, but when you bend down to pet them, they run away in fear. Clown shoes kidz.

Re: What happened to Ableton Live?
For me, if I only use Live devices I never have any troubles, but the more I use other VSTs, the more trouble I experience. In particular, it doesn't take very many Kontakt instruments to crash Live, usually with some type of memory error.
I think Windows 64bit plus a lot of memory will help, but I have little tolerance for any program that crashes.
So for now, here is my summary of Live 8:

Re: What happened to Ableton Live?
Some need to realize that Live wasn't made to run on these piece of $hit computers that people try to use either! My 4 cents.
Ableton 9, Feeltune Rhizome, Focusrite Pro, Mpk249....

while i can see the logic in this statement, the argument then becomes "but program X, Y, Z, 1, 2, & 3 all run fine on my piece of $hit"cmreal04 wrote:Some need to realize that Live wasn't made to run on these piece of $hit computers that people try to use either! My 4 cents.

What pieces of shit exactly? Do you have access to a secret database that shows a correlation between Live's performance and the quality of the computers it's running on?cmreal04 wrote:Some need to realize that Live wasn't made to run on these piece of $hit computers that people try to use either! Re: What happened to Ableton Live?
to my experience, Live 8 is quite stable and working until your project starts to have a lot of VST plugins and the amount of Memory Live8.2.1.exe needs starts to be near to 1000MB or over. A lot of people use live only with audio clips and Lives own effects so I don't think they will experience the serious stability problems.
If you are in Win7 32-bit, try this, just load VST-plugin after VST-plugin to Live continue until your live project takes about 1700MB of commit memory and whala!, your Live crashes without you pressing the play button even a single time. (I am not sure if this problem is in Mac, but it most definitely is on PC).
