the dock on a macbook

Post by djgrits7 » Wed Mar 09, 2011 4:22 pm

ok when i go into serato it just disappears, but when i'm in ableton it doesn't which distracts me from seeing all the effects at the bottom, etc..

i know how to make it disappear but i don't want to do that, i just want it to go away like it does while i'm in serato, etc...

i can hide the dock but then that's permanent everywhere i go,, any suggestions, etc? thanks

if serato makes it hide, then it has some kind of "full-screen-view",
as in video-players or such.
live doesn`t do this.

so either, you hide the dock, and let it only be visible if you "touch" the bottom,
but that brings it up unwanted, sometimes, i know.
also, you could "move" the dock to the side, or the upper end of the screen,
or you just adjust the live-interface to not go that far down.
i wouldn`t know of any better idea, at the moment.
maybe someone else

Live does have full-screen view. Hit F11 to go full-screen (this will hide the dock), and F11 again to go back to normal.

Yup, Macs go up to F12. Depending on how your system prefs are set, you might have to hold down the function key while hitting F11, as the F keys on Macs are often assigned to things such as volume and brightness etc. This can be set either way in the Mac system prefs > keyboard.

You don't HAVE to use F11 tho, there is a menu option in Live's View menu for fullscreen. To leave fullscreen, click the arrow that appears in the very bottom right corner of the screen.

Wow.. so a Mac actually goes ONE MORE than 11?

Some may understand this question.... 8)

Did you hit Fn-F11? On Macs.. F11 isn't the active action by default.
