live stops audio in ASIO-mode

Post by atom_b » Mon Mar 18, 2002 11:14 am

Any time I start another ASIO-application, Live stops output of audio (cpu-meter goes down to 0% and Live starts reacting verrry slow).

No matter wich ASIO-app I start (FM7, Reaktor 3) Live stops audio.
Rewire with Rebirth is working fine (but sure it's not in ASIO-mode).
I there some issue about ASIO in general I didn't dig? :?

I'm using Live in ASIO-mode with RME-Multiface on dual PIII-1000GHz, 1Gb RAM, running WinXP.
All routing in RME-TotalMIx is done seriously well.

Any hints or suggestions.

I think it is related to the ASIO implementation in LIVE, no other application on my sytem behaves like this. I just installed the 1.5 beta, wich brings great improvements BTW, but there seems to be no change to this topic.
But stop, this is not exactly true: Now I just deselect and reselect ASIO in options and the cpu-meter goes up again, so this it at least an improvement. But as soon as I switch to another ASIO application, I have to go through the same procedure again. Hmm...
I'll report it to the developers today. We'll see what is there reply. Hope they fix this soon.

Audio stops opening another App

Post by Alex » Wed Apr 03, 2002 10:42 pm

It's nice that the forum is used so much, but to solve the problems you have it would be very nice if you can send a mail to our support ([email protected]) or (for audio device problems) to me ([email protected]). The reason for that is just a to get a better communication because I have some more questions und need the answers to reproduce and solve the problems.

Many thanks
Alex
