I found out that my Korg electribe ES-1 couldn't be used to controll live, since the MIDI sent from the knobs are sysex messages.
On the PC I think this problem would be solved with a program called MIDI-OX. It says that it "is both a diagnostic tool and a System Exclusive librarian. It can perform filtering of MIDI data streams. It displays incoming MIDI streams, and passes the data to a MIDI output driver or the MIDI Mapper."
I'm using a powerbook G3 with OSX, and I'm wondering if software like this exists? It should be a simple program which output my sysex knob comands into something live could interpret.
(ps: has anyone else experienced that the crossfade slider automaticly goes all the way to the left, when a clip is launched, or is this a bug that has something to do with me mapping it to a sysex pan-knob? This assignment shows up as "xx(midischannel)/6")
