very bad service Akai (with apc40)

Post by de wouzer » Mon Mar 14, 2011 3:56 pm

I have an Akai apc 40. Unfortunately there was a problem with 1 of the faders
I brought my apc40 to the store I bought it... they tell me that I have to wait at least 3.5 month for a new fader.

So I brought it 3rd januari, I have to wait till 15 april.

they dont give guarantee... because a fader oftenly breaks down.... so my question... if something breaks down easilly, why does it take almost 4 months to have a new one?

Next to this, they told me the will call me back. Unfortunately they didn't. I asked them why not... they told me they couldn't reach me. I can see on my phone wheather this is true or not, and it's definitely not true

They also told me they contacted the store I bought my apc40. The store told me that they have not been called.

So they lie, they don't call me back when they say they would, and it takes at least 3,5 month before i have a new fader.

What? Blasphemy! The obvious solution to a broken/lost 25 cent fader and bad customer service is OBVIOUSLY spending $500 on a new controller by your favorite brand.

You're probably just jealous of their awesomeness.

As usual, Apple haters are more blindly ignorant.

Nobody is hating on Apple, just their fanboys. If iPads were indestructible or had great FREE customer service, then it would be a good suggestion, as it stands, it's just an opportunity for you to link some images that have nothing to do w/ the OP.

As opposed to the OP bringing an Ableton/Akai/store issue to the Lounge. Where it has no chance of being solved or addressed other than a 'whoa, sorry bro' type of response. Or iPad shilling. Either one works for me, really. :x

@de wouzer: I feel your pain, bro. The iPad photo was a joke; not because we are fanboys, but because nothing else in life matters except the iPad.

Seriously, that does suck about your APC40. Ace and seattle got mad at the iPad photos, but take comfort in the knowledge that had you posted this over in General, people would have posted pics of Maschine instead.   :x

APC40's aren't indestructible either. This thread wouldn't exist. But I can guarantee you a fader, button, or knob won’t break on an iPad. Do I need to explain why?

The developers of Live controller apps do provide free customer service.

The iPad along with controller apps is a viable alternative to the APC40.

I actually haven't seen many threads in which stuff is breaking on the APCs....? What is the consensus on build quality, anyway? I know some folks didn't care for the design, but....

All of them apparently have a constant low-humming noise, are obscenely bulky and requires a wall wart. Blech. It's funny that the "official" Ableton controller can't even touch touchAble on the iPad in terms of total hands-on control. The APC40 seems so archaic in comparison.

I don't love akai APC40- for using with ableton.... but I do use it... and it's not bad at all.

But for using akai apc 40 with Traktor pro it's fantastic... its the best combination I have ever seen

still no APC40 at home.
Akai said they never received the order
(I called them several times, they always knew about my order)

I will never buy anything Akai again
Waiting for more than 5 months now....
called Akai 5 times, always a different story, they never do what they say they do
and at the end, they say that they have no idea what I am talking about.

unbelievable
