This is an issue that has been plaguing us for a while now. I am part of a band - Ample Sound (cheeky link) of which there are three of us. We mainly use Ableton live for production and collaborate a lot.
The problem we are having is when I send a set to one of my band mates they mysteriously get noticeable latency (between the visual display and what they hear) added. This is a crippling error if they are working on drum patterns.
The odd thing is that if they create a set on their computers there is no problem, and when they send me a set their is no problem. It's only when I send them a set.
Any help would be much appreciated thank you.
Latency added when moving sets between computers

Re: Latency added when moving sets between computers
I forget to say. We are all using the same version of live: 8.2.1
Im running windows vista, one of my bandmates windows 7 (though we've had this problem since back when he had windows vista too) and I dunno about my other bandmate (but he does less production so thats less important.

Re: Latency added when moving sets between computers
I swap a lot of sets with a mate, never had any problems apart from minor eq8 setting changes. But maybe check the buffer size in the preferences for all the computers and see the overall latency. It states that somewhere in the tab.
It might be down the audio interface drivers, overall computer performance etc....
What equipment, pc specs are you using?
I'm sorry I can't really help if it's a live 8 problem, we're still rocking live 6. But we spent quite a long time getting our systems to a happy medium to allow us to transfer sets easily.

I think both are soundcards use the asio driver.
I'm not sure whether its down to system specs. Its probably my computer since we've had this problem since my bandmate had his old laptop and still have it now

Re: Latency added when moving sets between computers
When looking at the settings of all your individual versions of Ableton Live, are your buffer size and output latency the same? If you're saving a live set with your exact buffer size settings, the latency might be caused when opening up the set in a computer with different settings.
