Apc40 & apc20 red and yellow boxes keep switching?

Hello, i am on a Mac desktop running most current OS

And the apc20 & apc40 at the same time, my problem is that sometimes one of them doesn't show or the order is switched, or they both show up but only the red square or only the yellow square...

Having any other remote controllers turned on in the midi preferences seems to aggravate the situation
Also but as a whole it seems totally random, once i get it up and running then I'm totally worn out
And then if i have to reopen or change songs, then i have to go through the whole mess again of turning them on and off and deselecting and reselecting them to try and get them both showing and in the correct order.

I feel like i have tried every combination of possible solution, different USB jacks, cables, different hubs, but nothing seems to make much of a difference.

Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Also, if you think the hardware might be broken, who do i go for support, able ton or akai?

The color of the boxes is dependant on which order they are selected in the MIDI preferences. IE, the first slow is red, the second controller slot is yellow, etc. So if you're powering them on in a different order, or connecting them to different midi ports, that could be causing this.

hello! thanks for the info, but to clarify, i will have the apc40 selected in the first slot, and then apc20 in the second slot,
but then the apc20 triggers 1-8, and apc40 triggers 9-16
and then sometimes they just switch when i open a new song, or one doesnt show up at all,
or they will both display the scenes of only 1-8...

anyones got any ideas or workarounds?
