Still, I cannot be a dick about this. Big props to Korg for updating the iElectribe.

I gotta think the great iMS-20 can't be far behind. Can you image? That app? With it's awesome sequencer? MIDI sync?

Oh my.
No doubt it'll happen. Will turn the ims-20/ipad/MS-20 controller into a sick little standalone synth. The ipad can go right over the patch area. It' smuch easier to repatch with the touchscreen wires anyways. Finally wires on a digital screen actually makes sense again! ;)

MultiTrack may be the first app to allow silmultaneous multichannel audio recording with the new 3.0 update. It can already do stereo recording and it now allows you to split a stereo input to 2 mono inputs.

What’s new:
* Per track EQ (2 bands parametric, 2 bands shelving, 18db boost and cut) (3GS or later).
* Per track Compressor (3GS or later).
* Ability to monitor the input signal with effects (3GS or later).
* Fade in and out per region (editable fade points).
* Open/copy email attachments (mp3, m4a, AAC, wav, aif, ogg).
* Restore in-app purchases onto other devices.
* Delete Unused Bins from within app.
* Increased control of sliders and handles.
* Retina display for iPhone 4 and iPod 4th gen.
* Shared directory now monitors changes from iTunes File Sharing.
* Improved input selection allows spitting stereo input onto 2 mono tracks.
* iPod media browser now uses Apple supplied browser.
* Hotbox ‘Trim’ and ‘Move’ buttons unified to single ‘Edit’ button.
* new Hotbox ‘Slice’ tool splits a region at hotbox location or playhead location.
* Fader controls now accurately use decibel scale and allow a real +12db of gain boost.
* Metronome has volume control
* Track download on wifi webpage has option to include effects in track rendering.
* Bugfix: email account no longer required to create mixdowns.
* Bugfix: AAC is now in m4a container.
* Bugfix: After recording, track could be heard without disarming track.
* Bugfix: Missing metronome tick at zero
* Bugfix: Audio glitches sometimes when editing or deleting regions.

The iElectribe has just been updated to support MIDI In and Clock Sync!!!

I take back all the mean things I've said about Korg.

Oh wait. They updated the iMS-20 but didn't add MIDI Send or clock support. :x

Uh. Okay.

First, MIDI over USB doesn't work at all. Tried every single MIDI channel (inc Ch10, as specified). Absolutely DEAD.

Second, MIDI over OSX Network wifi works. On any MIDI channel.

Third, the clock sync is WRETCHED. It's so far off on the timing that it's totally unusable.

Korg gets props for at least using the words iElectribe and MIDI in the same sentence, though. I'll give them that.

If anyone has different results, I'm ready to stand corrected and take my medicine. :x
I came for the
But stayed for the :x

it works for me with a usb midi interface, but the timing is way behind and usually gets even worse over some time.

This thing is pretty fun, and has one of the best UI's of any iOS music app I've tried so far. Not huge in terms of flexibility (global filter, no export), but the loops it comes with are good and it's not too hard ot transform them into something unique.

Love the "Swift 3D Navigation" interface.

Looks to be Cubase's own version of Beat Repeat or perhaps LiveSlice... that has an iPad app version. When will we see anything from Ableton on this front?

Ahh. Interesting. What interface are you using? What channel? If you can give me as many details on your setup as possible, I'd like to see if there something I'm missing.

You'd think they've been working on something all these months while they've been dicking around with ver 8.

Since the release of the iPad I have zero excitement over music apps released on the iPhone only. None.

It might be more fiddly due to the smaller screen, but I still like the convenience of it. Being able to just put my phone in my pocket (where it is anyway) and make music on the go. I'm sure the iPad is easier to use, but I have to wonder how I'd transport it around without using a backpack. I was glad to leave the laptop behind for just that reason.

I’m almost never in a scenario where quickly working on a song on my iPhone is appealing. For me personally working on music is very much a private and environment thing. The situations where you find yourself with some time to kill with nothing but your iPhone are rarely the right environment for me and they usually aren’t private either.

Shit, I wish I had that “music anytime, anywhere” mentality, but I don’t. I probably did when I was younger. :x

Well, I never carry my headphones with me unless I'm planning on making music either, so I don't do it either unless I intentionally set out to do it.

But for me, I like to work in public parks or deep in the woods when I'm mtn biking for the day, so something like the iPad brings with it come logistical issues in that regard.
