Recommend me a break away for ONE

Post by tigali » Mon Mar 28, 2011 5:29 pm

So I have a couple of days and I'd like to get away on my own for once. Family life has been pretty hectic for the last couple of years so I feel I owe myself a little break away, on my own.
Any suggestions?
Off the top of my head I'd like to go somewhere I can actually DO something. Either check out lots of new music (so an electronic music festival/city with good nightlife might be an idea) or a surf break or something along those lines. Anybody go on holiday alone for a couple of days before?
I'm going to have to limit it to Europe tho, as a two day/night break away any further would be stoopid.
Any suggestions/stories of experiences gratefully received.

I don't know, isn't it quite hot? Anybody been to Pakistan? I was thinking more the hilly desert parts rather than the cities. I'd prefer the 'unspoilt' charms.

What about going to Messe? I'm going to Spain tomorrow and hopefully can make it there too.

I did once weekend fun`n work trip to Havana, Cuba- couldn't resist 230 Euro flight offer. Reached Friday night and right away to "Casa de la musica", till Monday been to 3 or 4 concerts, did some work in studio, absolutely fabulous time. Slept bit in between (on the beach!), didnt want to "waste" time, cant even remember return flight - fastened seat belt and was woken up in Brussels.
Music, rum, tabaco habano and above all the most gorgeous females in the universe, what more you want?

Seriously, isn't Berlin the place to go for music in Europe these days?

Wow, totally sold on Cuba. Apart from the females bit. The family I'm leaving is wife and child. But weather, music, rum, cigars, music, weather, music...
Cuba has it all.
I've been hearing great things about Berlin for about 10 years now so I'm thinking "it can't STILL be that good" but maybe I'm wrong.

If you are really serious, Las Vegas would be great for night life.

Vegas is too far to travel from here for a short stay. I'm thinking 3 days MAX so it's got to be no more than 4 hours flight. So Europe it is. Anything interesting happening in Amsterdam? I love that place.

[quote="tigali"] Apart from the females bit. /quote] You can (if you can) restirict yourself to looking only... . Berlin is interesting city but not exactly relaxing, my fav in Germany is Hamburg. Anyway I would rather go to a warmer place, Mallorca or Sevilla... .

I admire anybody who just takes off on a vacation on their own and is an attitude I need to adopt because most of my friends are one or several of the following.

A. Lazy
B. Broke
C. Weighed down by life's responsibilities
D. Won't go anywhere where they won't be the center of attention of many people (nothing great outdoors based)
