sample audition doesn't appear

I'm having problems trying to get the "audition" bit to appear. It should appear under the line devices on the left hand side of the screen as a little blue pair of headphones but it doesn't, so i can't hear any samples before i load them into drum rack. Usually i select "hot swap" and this brings it up but now hot swap takes me to a different file, where the icon does appear but when i try and look in line devices it's not there. so frustrating. can anyone help? thx

The preview tab should be there automatically on File browsers 1, 2 and 3, there is no toggle on/off for it. Try selecting the file you want to preview inside your browser and pressing shift+enter or your right arrow key, in theory it will preview the sample whether or not you can see the preview tab.
