Newbie Live question - arrangement view
Newbie Live question - arrangement view
Can I ask what that button is next to the OVR and why it is always automatically ON, it is the one that lights up red when on, i hate this button so many times I am trying to make an arrangement and play back, and it doesn't work coz this button is automatically ON and I take a while to figure out why, how make it OFF by default?
Re: Newbie Live question - arrangement view
the red button to the right is the back to arrangement button....to quote my "info view" when you play session view clips or change automated controls, this button lights up to indicate that the current state differs from the state that is stored in the arrangement. clicking that button makes live go back to the state stored in the arrangement.
so basically if you make any changes (volume, playing a clip out of order from your original arrangement) that differ from your arrangement...the red button is going to be on....the only way to turn it off, is to undo any changes you made to your song.
sorry....
anyhow, what did that little red button do to make you so bitter at it?
little guy is pretty harmless.
part 2
so there is also a red button to the left of the OVR. that is the global record button.....which records your song in real time in the arrangement view.....if that button is on by default...you can fix that easily.....what you want to do is....open a blank project....if that button is on, click on it to turn it off....then click on the word "live" in your toolbar.....click on "preferences"......your "preferences" menu should show up......click on "file folder".....at the top it will say "save current set as default" click on "save"......now what ever you did to this set will open up every time you open live....you can do some cool stuff with this....like say every time you open live you want to automatically have 8 tracks.....just open 8 tracks....and save it as a default....and every time you open live.....you will have 8 tracks......you can even set up your "go to" instruments or racks on those tracks.....whatever...just save it in the "save current set as default" preference.....and you will be ready like a mug!

NO its annoying not cute, and how the hell are you supposed to remember every thing you do in the arrangement prior to saving your work? thats like the damn undo/redo button not working.. Its a great program but has its flaws, Iam with OP on this one.

If live is acting wonky and not playing the things you are expecting it to, click the button. A few times of that and you'll start to get it.Street Spirit wrote:NO its annoying not cute, and how the hell are you supposed to remember every thing you do in the arrangement prior to saving your work? thats like the damn undo/redo button not working..
