where do i put .amxd files?

where do i put .amxd files?
Re: where do i put .amxd files?
As far as I know you can stick them anywhere. I think there is an absolute reference to them stored in your live set (I wish that wasn't the case and you could store them relative to the location of your set).
I think the tidy place to put them is in your presets folder within the library. Then store in either the max audio effects folder or max midi effects folder depending on type.

I am using a mac so where is the library?
I have downloaded a few Henke s tools and they are .amxd but I just dont know where they have been placed in Live8.2.2.

Re: where do i put .amxd files?
check
in Live's preferences/library/library location
Standard location is I think users/<username>/Library/Application support/ableton/live8library
If you want to check a specific m4l patch, open the device in max (from within Live), unlock it, right click on the background, select patcher inspector and look at file path attribute.

Re: where do i put .amxd files?
If you "collect and save" the set, the .amxd files (from the places selected inbarstu wrote:(I wish that wasn't the case and you could store them relative to the location of your set).
the shown dialog) which are used in your set are copied into the project containing
the set, with a relative link, so you can handle/move them together.
