increasing BPM in whole numbers?

Post by mrshow01 » Fri Apr 01, 2011 2:51 pm

Hi, if I map the global tempo to a knob on my APC is there a way to make it so it only moves in whole numbers, avoiding a tempo of 95.84 etc.

You could try Clyphx: http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=153113

install it and then rename any clip in your track (f.ex. an empty midiclip)
to BPM < or BPM > and then map a button to it...

This will "Dec/Inc Tempo by increment of 1-BPM" (I copied this from the Clyphx manual).

if you set the min/max amounts to a smaller range it will be less extreme.

set the min and max amonts to a 127 point range, I use 70-197, then each midi CC will equal 1 BPM.
