noob to the hardware and software, (novation launchpad) HELP

ok so im almost totally new to music production.... ive had a mac with logic pro for a while now and had some fun creating some simple beats etc and i know my way around certain plug ins but i decided to get into live music production.

so i bought a novation launchpad.... before i installed anything i stupidly downloaded and illegal version of ableton live, when i got the launchpad and set it up i realised it came with a launchpad edition of the software... this may have contributed to my problem

so i set it all up perfectly.... but NONE of the sounds and preset grooves give any sound out.. when i run the demo track, the hardware and software work perfectly and give out sound. but when i start a new track no sound comes out whatsoever... and ive literally tried everything.

this may sound absolutely hopeless to many people but its been bugging me for fucking ages.... i just wanna make some noise!

DId you set up Lives MIDI Preferences. Is the track armed? User 2 on LP plays Drum Rack, synth sounds by default.
Like poster above said make sure the track is routed to master. Do this using the drop down menu in the middle of the track. I/O

You are going to need to do some reading in the manual. I-O button on the far right will open up the in/out section in the channels. Sounds like you haven't set your audio or midi preferences either.

How are you set up for audio.

i.e

Q1: What soundcard, speakers or anything else audio such as headphones are you using, and where have you plugged them in.?

Q2: Do you know about using Lives in built help section and tutorials.?
