DJing and the warp file

Post by andyb19844 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 8:04 pm

So i Know that that when you warp a file it saves it to the same root file that the original MP3 or wav or whatever it is. SO lets say i wanna take that ableton live set to my friends house and DJ with it. I will bring my external HD with the live set file and saved warped songs on it but how will his ableton know where my songs are at. So my question is how do i move my DJ sets from one ableton to another. I will still have the saved Live set and the root folder of the waped file but will the other ableton automatically know to look there ?

Simple, just take your saved warp file make sure you know where it is
Either save it to your friends computer or just when you open ableton and it shows the big ass RED bar at the bottom ERROR! just go to the file in your live set and click to find the location of the file wherever you saved it whether it be on your external hard drive or on your friends computer somewhere

Me and this dude had to do this with his external we ended up using my desktop and i've been too lazy to move the file again after he left so it's still there so i wont have to relocate the file location

it's like in iTunes when you move the location of a song you just click the ! and go find the new location

This would mean saving both the warped file and the original though unless you only need the warped file I guess it doesn't matter
