People often ask me advice on choosing an audio interface; the answer is always a simple one:

RME Audio

I tried everything with my old FTP (Again: sold it 2 years ago due to intermittent LOUD white noise that required a full restart to get going again for maybe 10 mins before it happened again)

I even bought an expensive electric conditioner unit to add to my ground loop isolator etc... As it kind of seemed to be electrical spikes that were the cause. (I will say that an electrical conditioner is worth the money for any studio tbh)

Face it: M-Audio & Behringer make average (and on rare occasions surprisingly good) midi controllers but don't cut it as far as audio goes (Cards, monitors etc...)

Are you running on a MAC?? I've heard around the boards that the FTP is "designed" for MAC specifically, and that contributes to the issues w/ PC use.

Im getting rid of my EMU 0404 just because it too crackles up with Live and MacBook, so i thought of getting one of these instead:

Should be perfect, and also, it looks real tasty. :)

How'd that work for you? I'm in the market for something decent and was looking at that device.
