had yesterday an ipad here.. placed it on top of my g2 keyboard..it sticked like glued thanks to its rubbe sleeve.. and i still was able to operate all g2 controls and keys..
than i did the same with the lunchpad.. it either was falling off the front.. to the side or playing the upper octave of my keyboard completly..
On stage i nver find space for it..its to huge to be in front of the laptop.. and on the side of the latop its like a second laptop...
On the positive side..i demonstrated the ipad owner that i am completly able to control all lunchpad functions inclusiv selecting the fader and move them with my big tows !!
now do that with your i pad

Thats is nothing you can change but this thing is way to big.. the handicapped people version.. get it to 66% and it would be fine.. Is there an ableton shrink service?
But ok..
optimisations for your software implementation?
yes..
the mixer page is an overview killer..the upoer half should remain clip view.. than this page could do al necessary navigation to start/stop clips and recordings..
the 4 round buttons on the side associated to stop > arm are a waste.. a single one could do that for all 4 rows.. like a shift button.. so 3 free for better use.. like maybe switching to your funny fader and aux send reste page.. that is tatehre dangerous on stage btw.
or..
a third fx send !!
The faders itself are a great idea.. but why on earth in such unmusical steps?
any fader in the world is reducing the gain stepping in the higher range.. because plus 6db on nominal level is a lot...wile down ther in the noise floor its nothing...
you are also waisting important fade steps... it starts getting really audible at step 3-...
that should be the first one--and total mute with our shift button ..thats the round one in the lowest row... and you use this 2 steps we have won to make a finer resolution to the top...
its also questionable that the fader can max out.. i think its enough to limit them to 0 db.. and maybe change the colour when the screen version has fadersettings above zero.. at least i dont see why the have to max out.. a +3 would be a better stepping in this range to get it even louder...
other little thing..the mixer button is highlighted graphically with a green ring..
that is good so.. but on a dark stage with no clips at the outer boundary you sometimes dont see it at all..
would be good if the mixer button gets a light ilumination as orination mark
