Warping Question techno & house DJ's

Post by andyb19844 » Thu Apr 07, 2011 2:42 pm

Ok So i know How to warp for the most part. I will go in and see if the down beat lands on the whole number . I will go through and scan the track and if one of those gray arrows doesnt Land on the center of the a whole number ( usually ) then I will click it and drag it so it land spot on the center of that number line. BUT here what I dont get.
1) So sometimes I will go through and lets just say for example I zoom in on measure 7 i will notice the gray arrow will be just slightly to the left of it. So when i drag it so that it lands on the center of measuer 7 but then it actually makes it more off .WHY is this.
2) how far do you have to zoom in because if you zoom in far enough your gray arrows wont land right on each number they keep getting further away. So do you just zoom enough to see 1 2 3 4 etc etc .

Hey,

What i do is this:

(Auto Warp on, "Re-pitch" mode)

1) Locate the transient where the 1st beat starts, right click - choose "start 1:1:1 from here" then "warp from here (straight)".

2) Look at the Clip BPM - if it says 123.99 or 124.01 etc etc - then its safe to say its 124 BPM. manually adjust value accordingly.

3) If your track has an opening (e.g. melody ) before the 1st kick then grab your yellow marker and move everything along RIGHT so that Bar 1 matches the very start of the track.

............

thats all i do and it work 99% of time (i play House anyway so no fluctuation in BPM) :-)

hope that helps.

cheers
