You mean of the velocity? I was surprised, it's not perfect but its a lot better than I expected it would be.

OK, thanks! I really should test it myself...
Mostly interested in percussion stuff iPad. Really looking forward, testing out the Wavedrum Mini with sensor clip - I love doing body & everything percussion! Doin' it all the time...
I guess the actual iPad way can't compete there yet in sensitivity...

Re: iPad
Anybody with an iPad 2 willing to test out the just updated Star Walk app and report back? The original version has you hold your iPad up to the sky and as you move it, it shows you what constellations and planets are above that location. That's cool enough on it's own but they just added augmented reality which also incorporates the built-in camera. So instead of just showing you on a CGI representation like the old version the new version displays what the camera sees and draws the info on top of the video as you move.
I'm a bit suspicious of that demo image conveniently using a cloud covered sky.

Re: iPad
Damn, I was hoping your nature loving ways would inspire a purchase.
I'll just have to wait for my iPad 2 (shipping April 21

Wanted to acknowledge this and say "thank you." The Board is a really excellent feature.glitchrock-buddha wrote:Ok, so I just thought I'd post my progress on my on-going search for the perfect Notes/organizer/to do list type tool... Well I just discovered what is the best thing I've come across yet: Springpad.

Re: iPad
Most companies that create product have a pyramid structure in terms of the decision making process in bringing an idea to market.
The top of the pyramid is the start of a project. The original idea or concept of sketch or whatever. The bottom of the pyramid is the product brought to market. The further the project rolls along a schedule, the more motherfucking people are added to the decision making process and every voice must be heard.
Apple is the exact opposite.
They use an inverted pyramid. At the start of a project, everybody gets their say...the marketing dudes, the accounting department, the janitor. EVERYBODY. As the project schedule continues, decisions are made and people drop off the project meeting and feedback list. Someone from key departments - like marketing - remain on the team, but pretty much for observation purposes only - unless they have a huge beef with something or other.
The genius of this is almost never duplicated at any other company; where you have endless middle managers meddling in the decision making process.
One other thing: design rules at Apple. Next to Steve Jobs, Jonathan Ive wields an enormous amount of power and Jobs has made it quite clear that no one fucks with Ive. Design or Creative at other companies don't have near that kind of pull.

I got Star Walk a long time ago and I just saw it’s (only) $4.99.
I guess I’m the only hundredaire on this forum who can afford such extravagance.

Re: iPad
No dumb-dumb. It will still work on the iPad 1 but as the iPad 1 doesn't have a built-in camera it can't do the augmented reality awesomeness.LoopStationZebra wrote:Wait, the new Star Walk will only work on an iPad2? Has it started already?

Re: iPad
Does skywalk show the current position of the moon and the sun as well like skyview? I'm curious to see what skyview would be like on ipad. Probably good enough for the times when you really need to see the constellations and sun and moon.

yeah. you should be able to successfully navigate your long ship along foreign coast lines and find plenty of unsuspecting villages to pillage and plunder with that app.glitchrock-buddha wrote: Probably good enough for the times when you really need to see the constellations and sun and moon.

Line 6 midi mobilizer what is it good for?
I bought this device thinking it would record sequences in apps like GargeBand but it apparently only captures data from Casio keyboards and the like. It seems it's useless with a control surface. Am I missing something?
