MPK25 & Ableton Live 8 Issues

Hello All,

this is my first time on the forum so just wanted to say hello. I am newbie when it comes to Ableton and MIDI. Well I tried to figure it out for the longest part tonight, and I just can't seem to figure it out. My Ableton crashes anytime I try to load a MIDI track or anything. If it doesn't crash I get something saying:

"This device is not available in this version of Live.
The product Operator is required to go beyond this limitation.
See the User Account/ Licenses preferences to go authorize or try out a product"

After that pops up I get no sound anymore. This is what I am running.

HP DV6 series
Windows 7 (64 bit)
2.53 Ghz i5 processor
6 GB DDR3 Ram
640 GB Hard Drive
1 GB ATI Radeon Video card

If anyone has the same setup or anything similar that had the same issue, if you can help me I would appreciate it.

when i was running live 8 i used to get the same message when i would try to load up pre set drum sounds on the pads of the drum rack....live 8 comes with some preset instruments you can't use.....you should still be able to open up a midi track there though...and use certain preset instruments
..try "shift control T"......see if you can at least open a midi track there....then if it opens....try different presets than what you have been trying.....for me to build my own drum sets....i realized i had to drop a simpler on each drum pad.....then choose from the "sample wave form" library....give it a shot.....past that i don't know.....i hope this helps...if not maybe try to talk to ableton support....they are pretty quick getting back to you...

It seems as though every single one I open it says that. Then once I open that happens I can't use my MPK25 anymore. Then my Albeton freezes.

yeah dude you should email ableton tech support....they are really helpful...but be real specific about what is happening....its strange you can't open a midi track at all....sorry i couldn't be more help.

Ya i've sent a bunch of crash reports to them, and also hopefully trying to get some troubleshooting from them. Not sure what is going on.

try this email.....they usually write you back personally within a day....it helps if you are anally super specific about what is going on with your deal.....again sorry couldn't be more help
